When the cruciferous sensed the danger threatening their principality in Syria and Palestine which results from thecampaigns leaded by the King "El_Saleh Nagm Eddien Ayoub" and his victories, they wanted to take the chance of his stay in Damascus away from his capital of role to attack Egypt with their ships from the sea.  They have written to "Luis The Ninth" king of France at that time and made an agreement with him to sail to the East with their ships where Luis the Ninth leads a big campaign by himself with big and several armies for the sake of attacking Egypt. When Muslims heard the news, they felt pity for Islam and its power in the well-fortified stronghold – Egypt – to be destroyed, and so the Islamic leaders got in motion and headed a motion for a holy war.  In daylight of Friday, the ninth of Safar , the fleet of the Europeans came carrying their great groups under the leadership of "Luis The Ninth" King of France.  The ships of the Europeans occupiers of the Syrian and Palestinian coast joined them sailed to Damietta.  The ships berthed on the coast of Damietta and their troops landed on shore.  

   In the daylight of Saturday the Europeans came and put up their tenets in most of the cities and places which had Muslim troops which made the people in Damietta city fear and walk out of it during the night barefooted , semi naked and hungry with their women and children leaving everything behind and leaving the city empty of its inhabitants, they resorted to many of the places around Damietta.  On Sunday the European troops entered Damietta finding the city gates opened, empty city and no one to defend it, so they went in without any hold and took all the weapons and the ammo they found plus all the money and possessions were left behind in the city.  So the Muslims formed a camp in El_Mansoura included soldiers and many of the volunteers who have fulfilled the call of war in the name of their country to defend it against the invaders . At that time the Sultan, King "El_Saleh Nagm Eddien Ayoub" died and his wife "Shagarat Al_Dorr" assigned "Turan Shah" on the head of the army. 

      During that the European troops moved from Damietta to the direction of Faraskour till they were there , but a great number of people coming from everywhere gathered and the treasuries were opened, money were spent and weapons were distributed . When it was Monday they all went to El_Mansoura and the fight was on, killing was everywhere in water and on shore . The fight continued between the two teams for about two months, prince "Fakhr Eddien" and "Alkand" – brother of King "Luis" king of France – were killed in the battles, the Europeans were so near to erase the word of Islam from the land of Egypt and they reached the gate of the palace till a group of naval and cavalry Mamlukes went into the fight with the name of God and they made a heavy attack on the European troops removing them from their posts and making a great success in fighting them with swords till they defeated in that battle. During all the previous Muslim troops built ships and carried them on camels till they buoyed them in the Nile shipping them with fighters . And when these ships were opposite to the European ships a battle begun , the Egyptian ships surrounded the European ships and attacked them heavily sinking 250 European ships and getting about one thousand between killing and captured . With this result the supplies which were coming through their fleet stopped from going to the European troops . They suffered from hunger , fear and were trapped , while which left of their fleet flee , that led them to ask for a truce based on their surrender to Damietta and getting Jerusalem in return plus some of the costal cities as well , the truce was refused . The Europeans burned all their wood and destroyed the numbered ships were still with them and flee wanting to take Damietta as a stronghold, but the Egyptians followed them till they reached Faraskour and a force of civilian resistance was formed their and stood in the face of the European troops in steadiness then surrounded them making their swords in them killing and injuring . "Luis The Ninth" and the leaders of the defeated troops escaped to the hill of El_Gereef but the people of Domyat captured them and Tawashy "Jamal Eddien Mohsen El_Salhy" led them to the house of "Ibn Lokman" as prisoners of war ending the battle of  annihilation in Faraskour. "Luis The Ninth" was released with a big ransom of money . Great king "Turan Shah" was in his fort in Faraskour to supervise the battle and stayed in it after the battle to write to the Arabic nation from Faraskour congratulating them . The celebrations were held in this occasion, the Egyptians were very happy with this glorious victory and the Egyptian flag flapped on the walls of Faraskour and the word of monotheism came back to resound on its minarets
