Fishing is one of the oldest occupation in Damietta.
The military fleet ships was established in Ezbet EL Borg at
El-Fatemia age.
AL Zaher Bebars made a building in it for fleets industry at 1263.
It has a big shipyard supplied with modern equipments to work in the international and
territorial water, also it has flooting shipyards for ships restoration and repairing.
Due to Damietta location which surrounded with water from all sides and the skillfulness of its
people. They work in fishing since long time ago.
It has the biggest mechanical fleet in Egypt ( 50% of total fleets in Egypt). Its production
covers the consumption of damietta and other neighborhood governorates, also the excellent
production is exported to abroad .
